Keith M. Phillips, DMD, MSD
Dr. Keith Phillips received his D.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and a certificate in Prosthodontics with an M.S.D. from the University of Washington. In addition, he is one of only 20 prosthodontists in Washington who are Board Certified. This is achieved through a series of rigiorous exams administered by the American Board of Prosthodontics and awarded individuals who have demonstrated special knowledge and skills in prosthodontics. The board also seeks to certify those who are committed to life-long learning and a lifetime of ethical practices, who value the doctor/patient relationship, who respect those with philosophical, cultural or physical differences and who are committed to the advancement of prosthodontics.
After completion of his postdoctoral training, Dr. Phillips became Assistant Professor of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine as well as Chief of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. Dr. Phillips returned to the University of Washington to become the Director of the Graduate Program in Prosthodontics from 1996 to 2004. He is a past Associate Director of Graduate Prosthodontics at the University of Washington, a position he held from 2004-2009.
Dr. Phillips is a Former Associate Editor for the Journal of the American Dental Association, Affiliate Professor at the University of Washington, the University of Southern California, and the University of Pennsylvania. He lectures nationally and internationally on implant dentistry and is also a guest lecturer at the Kois Center in Seattle and the Ickert Teaching Centre in Vancouver, BC.
Dr. Timothy Hess, DDS, MAGD
Dr. Hess is a general dentist that graduated from the University of Washington in 1994 and practices in Auburn, WA. He is an Affiliate Instructor in Restorative Dentistry and the Director of the Tucker Institute at the University of Washington. Dr. Hess lectures and presents hands-on courses in Washington State for Botulinum Toxin-A and Dermal filler therapies. This is his 4th year in a row appearing at the Pacific Northwest Dental Conference.
Dr. Hess has been published in the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants and Operative Dentistry. He has lectured at the ADA Annual Meeting, the AGD Annual Meeting and the Canadian Academy of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics. He currently lectures on implant failures due to restorative techniques and materials.
He is a Member of the Academy of Richard V Tucker Study Clubs, Academy of Operative Dentistry, Pierre Fauchard Honour Society, International Team of Implantology, SKCDS Forensic Team, WSDA, ADA, AGD, DOCS Sedation, Spear Faculty Club, Treasurer for the SKCDS and recently became a Fellow in the International College of Dentists.

Ricardo Mitrani, D.D.S., M.S.D.
Dr. Mitrani is a member of the Spear Faculty, the executive director of Spear Digest and a Spear Seminar instructor. He has authored numerous scientific publications and chapters in text books in the fields of implant prosthodontics and esthetic dentistry and has given more than 370 lectures in 26 countries worldwide. He currently holds academic affiliations at the University of Washington and UNAM (National University of Mexico) and maintains a private practice limited to prosthodontics and implants in Mexico City
A member of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, American Academy of Restorative Dentistry and the International College of Dentistry, Dr. Mitrani also serves as a member on the editorial board of numerous peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry (JERD), Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry and the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Mitrani received a certificate in prosthodontics and an MSD in restorative dentistry from the University of Washington.
